Although I asked politely if I could call her
Almond,
she said 'no'.
Although I asked in good humor
she solemnly
shook her head.
Even though I tried to tickle her brain
she looked at me, unsmiling,
until she noticed that she was
beautiful.
And then, she would not stop.
