If I were to ask myself
how I hope my child would be,
the answer would be Lance.
Respectfully working his way
through this
insane labyrinth we call
education.
Although he works harder
to write a sentence with a
predicate and noun,
and the whole ‘pronoun
without an antecedent’
continues to hound him,
he never complains or boasts,
or says an unfriendly word.
Lance you
will go far if your habits
of accepting advice and
trying your best
continue.
